Make sure you have small bills because it will often be difficult to get change, If you only have a $100 and water is $10 for a case and you are limited to one case, you do not want to have the choice of paying $100 or having no water.</li>

<li>Keys to house, cars, boats etc</li>

<li>Toys, Books and Games</li>

<li>Important documents &#8211; in a waterproof container or watertight resealable plastic bag<br />
— insurance, medical records, bank account numbers, Social Security card, etc. Don&#8217;t forget your re-entry documents (e.g. stickers or passes). Many barrier islands require some documentation in order to return. Keep important phone number here. You may know them, but a loved one may not.</li>
</ul>

<li>Tools &#8211; keep a set with you during the storm. A pocket knife, nails, a hammer and rope are important elements. Towels and buckets are useful too if you develop a leak.</li>
</ul>

<li>Vehicle fuel tanks filled</li>

— proper identification / immunization records / medications<br />

<h3>Hurricane Tips</h3>

<li>If you can&#8217;t get cell reception, move to high ground and you may be able to reach towers that are in working condition.</li>
</ul>

<li>Have a non-cordless plug in phone (a no-frills, phone that only plugs into the phone outlet and does not need its own power supply). Often phone lines will work, but without power, cordless phones will not work</li>

Richard Stone, DS. Gathering starts at 9:30, the meeting promptly starts at 10:00, lunch will be provided, and after the aftenoon session, a planning meeting regarding the Resurrection Weekend will be conducted.</p>
<p>You are also invited to attend the <strong>Clergy Family Fun Day/Picnic</strong> at <strong>New Hope UMC</strong> on <strong>Saturday August 14th</strong> from 11 AM to 2 PM. All pastors and their families are encourage to come and enjoy all the festivities and meet the incoming pastors and their families. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://elizabethcitydistrictumc.org/files/2010/07/ncc-logo.png"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-368" src="http://elizabethcitydistrictumc.org/files/2010/07/ncc-logo.png" alt="" width="100" height="100" /></a>Each quadrennium all pastors and certified lay ministers serving in the NC Annual Conference must attend the updated sexual ethics training, regardless of when they last attended. All persons who are under Episcopal appointment in the NC Conference (including clergy in extension ministry) must attend this training. Not attending may impact a clergy appointment therefore five dates have been provided so each pastor serving can make himself/herself available to attend.</p>
<p>To register, pastors must contact the host district office for the selected training location (see below). Ideally, pastors would attend on the day/location in the district where he/she serves, but if that is not possible due to a scheduling conflict, the pastor must (a) alert their DS and (b) connect with the host district for the site they plan to attend.</p>
<p>Each training day will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. – please plan to arrive by 9:30 a.m. in order to settle in prior to the beginning of the training. Lunch will be provided and pastors will be asked to pay a nominal fee to cover the cost of lunch, typically $5.00 or so.</p>

<p>The small group time will be centered around: 1. Social Media 2. The Fall Out after misconduct occurs 3. Boundary Issues. Pastors will rotate from group to group in the afternoon sessions.</p>

<p>The Rev. Richard L. Stone III is the Elizabeth City District Superintendent.</p>
<p>“I feel extra affirmation and appreciation from Bishop Gwinn with this appointment,” Stone said. He earned his bachelors degree at UNC-Pembroke and M.Div. at Duke Divinity School. Stone served as a student pastor 1980-81 in the Bahama area at Ellis Chapel, and then full-time pastorates 1981-87 in the Laurinburg area at Caledonia-Jones, in 1987-93 at Wendell in Wake County, 1993-98 at Horne Memorial in Clayton, 1998-2001 at St. Andrews in Garner, 2001-2006 at Kitty Hawk, and 2006-2010 at Fuquay-Varina.</p>
<p>He and his wife Diane have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They have two adult children and six grandchildren. “Diane and I lived in Kitty Hawk for five years. We feel it is a wonderful opportunity to go back to an area we love,” Stone said. “I look forward to serving with the pastors of the Elizabeth City District and to be a part of the ministerial team of that district. My plans are to visit pastors and worship with them on a regular basis and offer them encouragement in their ministry.”<br />
